Cobbers Post Career-Best Times At MIAC Meet

ST. PAUL, Minn. (10/27/12)—Brad McConn and Tanner Sakrismo placed in the top 30 at the MIAC Championship Meet held at Como Park Golf Course and helped the Cobbers finish in ninth place.

In addition to McConn and Sakrismo placing in the top 30, all five of Concordia's top runners posted their career-best time at a conference meet.

The ninth-place finish is one place higher than in 2011 when they came in 10th at the conference meet. It is the second year that McConn has finished in the top 30 at the conference meet while Sakrismo goes back-to-back with top 30 finishes. McConn also finished in the top 30 at the 2010 MIAC Meet.

McConn led the Cobber harriers in 2012 by clocking a 26:24.8 and finishing in 23rd place. His previous best at the meet was 26:59.6 when he placed 24th back in 2010. His time at this year's meet is almost three minutes faster than his time as a freshman in 2009.

Sakrismo was less than 15-seconds off the pace set by McConn. He ran a 26:36.6 and came home in 28th place. His time was just three second behind last year's mark of 26:33.0 when he placed 27th.

Ryan Sederquist, Henry Dobbs and Scott Anderson rounded out the scoring team for the Cobbers. All three posted career-best times at the conference meet. Sederquist shaved 25-seconds off of his time from last year. Sederquist finished in a time of 27:20.8 on Saturday and placed 52nd. Dobbs and Anderson were right behind one another in the finishing sheet. Dobbs was 73rd in a time of 2834.4 and Anderson was 74th with a mark of 28:43.7.

Concordia will now train for two more weeks before competing at the NCAA Central Region Meet held at St. Olaf College on Saturday, Nov. 10.
