Cobbers Finish Second At Jimmie Invitational

JAMESTOWN, N.D.  (10/12/12)—Brad McConn and Tanner Sakrismo placed in the top 7 and helped Concordia go on to finish second at the Jamestown Invitational on Friday.

McConn and Sakrismo have been the Cobbers' top runners in 2012 and the two once again led the way at the Hillcrest Golf Course in Jamestown. McConn ran a 27:00.00 on the 8k course and finished in third place. Sakrismo was less than one-minute behind as he ran a 27:39.00 and placed sixth. It was McConn's best time of the season on an 8k course.

As a team the Cobbers had four of their top five runners in the meet place in the top 20. Concordia finished with a team score of 56 which was second only to MSU Moorhead who won the meet with a total of 19.

Scott Anderson narrowly missed out on the first top 10 finish of his career. He ran a 28:36.00 and finished in 11th place. He was only 5-seconds out of the top 10.

Henry Dobbs and Taylor Lauermann rounded out the top 5 for CC. Dobbs was the final Cobber to place in the top 20 and clocked a 29:20.00 to finish in 19th place. Lauermann came home in 29:49.00 and was four spots behind in 23rd place.

Concordia will now have a two-week break before competing at the MIAC Conference Meet on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 3:15 p.m. at Como Park Golf Course. The Cobbers will be looking to improve on their 10th place finish from last season.
