The steeplechase and shot put crews led Concordia at the Hamline Invitational. The Cobbers had three athletes in each event post a Top 10 finish at the first full outdoor meet of the year. The two events were responsible for six of Concordia’s 16 Top 10 finishes at the meet.

Concordia seniors Cooper Folkestad (Wadena, Minn./Wadena Deer Creek HS) and Wade Rhonemus (Foley, Minn.) have been officially entered into the NCAA National Track and Field Indoor Championship Meet which will be held on Mar. 8-9 in Virginia Beach, Va.

Senior Cooper Folkestad and junior Peyton Johnsrud led the way for Concordia on Day 2 at the MIAC Indoor Championship. The two field athletes both posted event wins to help the Cobbers finish sixth in the final team standings. Concordia finished with 53.0 points.

MIAC Champion & School Record For Rhonemus

Wade Rhonemus posted an indoor PR mark in all three events on Friday and came away with an MIAC championship and a new school record in the heptathlon.

Junior Trevor Tiongson was one of six track athletes who posted Top 8 finishes on Day 1 of the MIAC Meet. He finished fifth in the 400M.

Concordia had six track athletes post podium finishes to lead the Cobbers on Day 1 at the MIAC Indoor Championship Meet. Led by MIAC heptathlon champion Wade Rhonemus, Concordia finished Friday with 26 team points. That total was good for sixth in the team standings.

Experience was served in the final competition before the MIAC Championship Meet. Concordia had a host of seniors and juniors put up marks on the school’s all-time list as the Cobbers finished in third place in the final team standings at the UND Tune-Up.

Senior Wade Rhonemus started the final multi-event campaign of his college career by nearly posting a PR in the heptathlon.

It was another week of excellence for Cobber bookends Cooper Folkestad, Wade Rhonemus and Brady Goss. Seniors Folkestad and Rhonemus and freshman Goss all posted MIAC Top 3 marks and led Concordia at the NDSU Bison Open.

First-year runner Brady Goss was the lone event winner for the Cobbers at the UND Open. It was his second straight week with a distance-race win.
