A Trio Of Wins At The Cobber Twilight

MOORHEAD, Minn. (4/25/18)---Adam Frazier and David Supinski provided the highlights for Concordia's second home outdoor meet in four days. Supinski won the 200 and 400 meters while Frazier captured the crown in the shot put at the annual Cobber Twilight Meet.

Supinski and Frazier's performances led Concordia to a second-place finish at the Twilight Meet which featured 12 teams from NCAA Division I, II and III and NAIA.

Supinski started his double-win day by clocking a season-best 49.80 in the 400 meters. That time was a second faster than the second-place finisher and the seventh fastest time in the MIAC this year.

Supinski then waited almost two hours to earn a victory in his second event of the meet. He crossed the line in a time of 23.08 in the first heat of the 200 meters which wound up winning the event by .22 of a second. The time is also a season-best and is the No.15 time on the league's performance list this season.

Frazier, fresh off being named Super Cobb at the annual Golden Cobbs Awards, won the shot put on his third throw of the event. Frazier was also one of three Cobber athletes to place in the Top 8 of the hammer throw. He came away with a distance of 137-11 on his final attempt which was good for seventh place.

Freshman Jacob Steiner had a trio of Top 15 finishes in throwing events at the meet. He was third in the hammer with a mark of 145-07, fourth in the shot put at 44-11 and 12th in the discus at 121-06. Steiner's mark in the hammer is the 11th best in the league this year while he is No.10 in the shot put.

Sophomore Kiefer Miller completed the trio of Top 8 finishers in the hammer throw. He was eighth with a distance of 134-03.

Tyrell Setness had the next highest field finish for CC at the meet as he placed third in the javelin with a season-best distance of 167-05. That distance is sixth farthest in the conference this year.

Eli Beachy earned a Top 5 finish in the pole vault with a season-best height of 14-07.25 which is also the fourth best in the MIAC.

Jacob Probst had sixth-place finishes in the triple jump and 110-meter hurdles while Wyatt Lautt and Tom Whiting came away with Top 6 finishes in both the 100 and 200 meters.
