A Quintet Of Honorable Mention Honors

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. (5/14/16)—Concordia posted three Top 6 finishes in the high jump, scored 20 points on Day 2 of the MIAC Championship Meet and finished in eighth place in the final standings.

Gabe Wright, Jackson Schepp and Nick Anderson gave the Cobbers a 4-5-6 finish in the high jump which was good for 12 of the team's 20 points on the day.

Wright cleared 6-05 to capture fourth place and earn all-conference honorable mention honors. His height tied for the second best on the day but his misses at lower heights dropped him to fourth. It is the second straight season he has finished in the top 4 of the event at the outdoor meet. Last year he was third with a height of 6-04.75.

Schepp and Anderson both posted a best height of 6-03.25. Schepp placed fifth and Anderson was fifth and both came away with all-conference honorable mention honors. The pair flip-flop their places from last year's conference meet where Anderson was fifth and Schepp was sixth.

Anderson also placed in the top 5 in the triple jump on Saturday. He recorded a distance of 43-05.25 on his second attempt and placed fifth. His mark is a season best and it is the second straight season he has earned all-conference honorable mention honors in the triple jump. Last year he was fourth with a distance of 43-10.75.

Concordia's two team scoring totals in track events on Saturday came from the legs of Matthew Lillehaugen and David Supinski.

Lillehaugen ran a 1:58.17 in the 800 meters and finished in sixth place. His time was only 1.15 seconds behind the second-place finisher as the lea group was tightly bunched throughout the race. It is the second straight conference meet where he has earned all-conference honorable mention honors. He placed fifth in the 1000 meters at the MIAC Indoor Meet.

Supinski capped his freshman season by placing eighth in the 400 meters. Supinski crossed the line on Saturday in a time of 50.72 which was .12 of a second faster than his time in the prelims.

Concordia finished off the 2016 conference meet by placing ninth in the 4x400-meter relay in a season best time of 3:26.11.
