Zylstra Caps Highly Successful Season At NCAA Meet

CANTON, N.Y. (5/23/15)—Concordia junior Brandon Zylstra failed to post a height in the high jump at the NCAA National Outdoor Meet and had his quest for All-American honors come to a sudden end.

Zylstra, who broke the school record in the high jump at the MIAC Meet, started the competition at the height of 6-06.25. He missed on all three of his attempts at the height and went out of the competition.
Zylstra had not posted a height lower than 6-08.25 in the outdoor season.

Zylstra earned a spot at the national meet by recording a Concordia school-record height of 6-10.75 at the conference outdoor meet. That mark would have placed second at the NCAA Meet on Saturday.

Despite falling short at nationals, Zylstra's 2015 season will go down as one of the most successful in recent program history. Zylstra won the long jump at both the MIAC Indoor and Outdoor Meets and also placed second in the high jump at both meets. For his remarkable two-event finishes he was named the Outstanding Field Atlhete at both conference meets.
