Saue, Porter & Swanson Are All-MIAC

MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/08/19)---Jared Saue, Erik Porter and Ben Swanson all earned MIAC All-Conference honors as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

It marks the second straight season that the Cobbers have had three players earn All-Conference honors and it is the third straight year that CC has had more than one All-Conference honoree.

Saue earned All-Conference awards for both singles and doubles play while Porter and Swanson made the MIAC All-Conference list for doubles. Swanson also earned MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in singles. Porter was also the team's selection for the MIAC All-Sportsmanship squad.

Saue, playing in his third collegiate season, had a career year for the Cobbers. He finished the year with career highs in win totals for overall matches and conference matches. Saue was 12-7 in all singles matches as the team's No.2 singles player and went 6-3 against MIAC opponents. Both win totals led Concordia for the season.

Saue now has 27 singles wins in his career at Concordia. His previous single-season win record was 11 which he posted in the 2018 campaign.

Saue teamed with Porter to form the Cobbers' No.1 doubles partnership. They went 6-3 in MIAC play. They were also 11-7 in all matches. Concordia has now had at least one doubles team win six league matches for three straight seasons.

Swanson also earned All-MIAC honors in doubles by posting six doubles victories in conference play. He went 5-1 with partner Tanner Lundberg as the pairing played most of the year at the No.2 doubles spot. Swanson also earned another MIAC doubles win playing with Carter Steffes.

Swanson went on to earn All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in singles play as well. He was 4-5 in the conference as the team's No.3 singles player. Swanson was also 11-8 on the year as he also posted career-high win totals in singles play for the season.
