Peterson & Mukhtar Named All-MIAC

MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/09/18)---Concordia had a pair of players earn MIAC postseason awards as voted by the league coaches it was announced on Friday. Fargo natives Austin Peterson and Aronah Mukhtar both earned conference honors. Peterson was named to the MIAC All-Conference Team while Mukhtar earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

Senior Spencer Lancaster was chosen by Concordia as the team's representative on the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

Peterson earns his third straight conference postseason honor. He was named to the MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention team as a sophomore in 2016 and last year he was placed on the All-Conference Team.

Peterson was a team captain in 2018 and the leader of the Cobber defense which improved its goals allowed total by seven. Peterson also helped Concordia increase its win total by a pair of games.

Peterson, playing primarily defense and defending central midfielder, finished the season with two goals and two assists for six points. Peterson ended his three seasons at Concordia with six goals and eight assists for 20 points. He played in 50 games in his time in maroon and gold.    

Mukhtar earns his second straight MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention award. He led Concordia in scoring in 2018. He finished the year with seven goals and three assists for 17 points in all games. His goal, assist and point totals are single season career highs. Mukhtar also led Concordia in scoring in conference games as he finished with three goals for six points.  

Mukhtar now has 15 goals and seven assists for 37 points in his career.
