Offense Clicks In 4-1 Win At Morris

STORY LINE: Concordia scored the first three goals in their non-conference game at Minn.-Morris and cruised to a 4-1 win over the Cougars. The Cobbers have now won two of their first three games of the year and avenged a 1-0 loss to Morris last season.

Junior Aronah Mukhtar scored a pair of goals while freshman Nate Weaver added his second game-winning goal of the year and sophomore Jamie Van Overschelde scored his first collegiate goal. Sophomore Jackson Carr made the start in goal and played the first 59:09 without allowing a goal. Keith Sullivan made his first appearance of the year and allowed a single foal in 30:51 of action.

GOAL-SCORING MACHINE: Nate Weaver has now scored at least one goal in all three of his collegiate games and now leads the MIAC in goals scored with four. It is believed to be the first time in program history that a player has scored at least one goal in his first three college games.

OFFENSIVELY SPEAKING: Concordia has scored at least one goal in all three games and has seven total goals on the year. The Cobbers didn't score their seventh goal of the season last year until the sixth game.

MULTIPLE-GOAL MUKHTAR: Junior Aron Mukhtar scored two goals on Tuesday and has now scored at least two goals in all three seasons of play while at CC. He matched his total goal output from his freshman season when he also netted two goals. Mukhtar had a career-high six nuggets last season. The teo-goal game was Miukhtar's second of his career. He also added a pair of goals last year against St. John's.

UP NEXT: Concordia will continue with their non-conference schedule when they host Wis.-Superior on Friday at 2 p.m. The Cobbers lost 7-0 to the Yellowjackets last season in Superior, Wis. UWS is currently 0-2 on the year and lost to fellow MIAC opponent St. Thomas in the season opener on Aug. 31.
