A Tough 10 Minutes

A Tough 10 Minutes

ST. PAUL, Minn. (9/29/15)—Another multi-goal first half cost the Cobbers. Concordia gave up four goals in the first 45 minutes of play and lost 6-0 at St. Thomas.

Concordia started strong and earned a corner kick in the third minute of play. The teams played up and down the field for the first 15 minutes with only one combined shot.

The game turned right at the 19-minute mark when the Tommies scored the first of their four goals in the opening period. UST scored at the 18:59 mark and then put the game away with a pair of goals in the 26th and 29th minutes of play. The three goals in a span of less than 10 minutes would put the Cobbers on the defensive foot for the rest of the half.

St. Thomas added their fourth goal four minutes before the break and then scored a goal 8:13 after halftime to push the lead to 5-0.

Concordia was outshot 24-2 in total shots and 10-0 in shots on goal. The Tommies also held an 8-4 edge in corner kicks.

Cobber goalie Ben Glogoza made four saves in the 90-minute game.
