Ryback Signs Pro Contract

Former Cobber men's hockey player Aaron Ryback signed a professional contract with Swedish Division 2 team Solleftea HK. 

Solleftea HK plays in Division 2, which is the fourth level of professional hockey in Sweden and is the same league that former Cobber teammate Zach Doerring played in. Doerring played for Amals SK.

Solleftea HK is located in the town of Solleftea which is located in the central part of Sweden about 306 miles north of Stockholm. Solleftea has a population of 8,562.   

Ryback was a 4-year member of the Cobber hockey team and played in 54 games for Concordia. He had the best season of his career last year as a senior when he put up four goals and five assists for nine points. He also recorded 28 shots in 2020 and had a total of 45 shots for his career. His biggest game of his senior year came on Nov. 8 when he scored the game-winning goal against perennial DIII powerhouse Wis.-River Falls in a 3-2 victory for the Cobbers. 

In his signing release, Ryback told Solleftea; "I am very excited and expectant about the opportunity to come to Sollefteå and play ice hockey, I have hopes that the team will have a successful season and hopefully together we will be able to create a winning mentality within the club."

Ryback also commented, "My shot and my view of the game, I consider to be my main qualities as a player. I want to contribute by constantly giving everything every day and in this way contribute to creating a winning culture."
