STORY LINE: Concordia gave up three goals in the first 10 minutes of play at St. Mary's and lost 7-2 in Winona. The Cardinals scored the first six goals of the game as the Cobbers lost for the first time in conference play.

RECORDS: Concordia has their 7-game MIAC unbeaten streak come to an end. CC is now 6-1-1 in conference play and remain in second place with 20 league points. The Cobbers are 10-3-2 overall. St. Mary's wins for the third time in the last five games and is 3-10-3 in all games and 2-4-2 in the MIAC.

SPECIAL TEAMS THIRD PERIOD: Concordia and St. Mary's combined for five goals in the third period and all five were scored by special teams. The Cardinals got the scoring started with a shorthanded strike just 8-seconds into the period. They also added two power play goals. The Cobbers scored both of their goals when they had the man advantage.

MARIO BACK ON TRACK: Senior Mario Bianchi scored Concordia's first goal of the game. His strike at 11:40 of the third ended a 8-game scoring drought. Bianchi now has 12 goals and 11 assists on the year for 23 points. His 23 points are the most in a single season in his time at Concordia.        

BRACKO BACKS IT UP: Freshman Jacen Bracko scored the Cobbers second goal of the game at the 18:05 mark of the third period. It marked the second straight game of the weekend that Bracko found the back of the net and the third consecutive game he has scored a goal. Bracko now has seven goals and five assists on the year for 12 points. He is currently second in the MIAC in points scored by a freshman.      

30-POINT PRODUCER: Tyler Bossert had an assist on both of the Cobbers' goals and now has 31 points on the year. He is second in Division III in scoring and leads the MIAC. Bossert now has 23 assists on the year which is tops in the nation. The last 30-point scorer for the Cobbers was Andrew Deters when he put up 34 points in the 2013-14 season.    

STAT STUFF: Concordia was outshot 37-22 in the game. The Cobbers held an 11-10 edge in the third period. The 22 shots on goal is the fewest in a conference game this year for CC. The Cobbers were led by a pair of defenseman. Kyle Siemers and Eddie Eades both had three shots on goal in the game.   

UP NEXT: Concordia will look to rebound when they head home to square off against St. John's. The Cobbers and Johnnies will play a 2-game series on Jan. 18-19 at the Moorhead Sports Center. SJU is 7-7-3 overall and 5-2-1 in the MIAC. They are currently in third place behind the Cobbers.
