Bossert Named MIAC Player of the Week

MOORHEAD, Minn. (12/03/18)---Concordia sophomore forward Tyler Bossert was named the MIAC Player of the Week after recording a pair of multiple-point games and helping the Cobbers sweep St. Olaf.

Bossert becomes the first Cobber player to earn the conference weekly award this season and the first since Mario Bianchi was named the MIAC Player of the Week on Dec. 11 of last season.

Bossert was recognized by the league office for his 5-point weekend against the Oles. He had an assist on both game-winning goals as Concordia posted its first MIAC sweep since the 2016-17 season. The two wins also extended the Cobbers' unbeaten streak to six games which is also the longest since the 2016-17 season.  

Bossert finished with a goal and an assist in Friday's 5-1 win and then added a goal and two assists on Saturday in the Cobbers' 4-2 victory. His 5-point weekend jumped him into the lead in scoring in the MIAC with 19 points and his four assists pushed him into a tie for second place in all of NCAA Division III with 15 on the year.    

Bossert currently has four goals and 15 assists for 19 points and has recorded at least one point in nine of the 10 games this season.He also has six multiple-point games on the year.

Bossert, and the rest of the Cobbers, will be back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 5 when they host Milwaukee School of Engineering at 7 p.m. Concordia will then face Hamline on Dec. 7-8 at the Moorhead Sports Center in the final games of the 2018 portion of their schedule.
