Multiple Players Receive MIAC Honors

MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/07/16)—Concordia finished off their season by having a quintet of players all receive MIAC postseason accolades.

Seniors Charlie Aus and Jordie Bancroft, sophomore Jon Grebosky, freshman Jake Zeleznikar and sophomore Mark Huneke all earned MIAC recognition.

Aus and Bancroft were named to the MIAC All-Conference Team. Grebosky earned All-Conference Honorable Mention while Zeleznikar was placed on the MIAC All-Rookie Team and Huneke was the team's selection for the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

Bancroft caps one of the most consistent careers in program history. It is the fourth straight season that he has earned All-Conference honors. Bancroft becomes one of only a handful of players to earn All-Conference in all four years. He was one of the few players in program history to have at least 20 points in all four seasons.

Aus and Grebosky earn their second straight conference postseason award. Aus was named to the MIAC All-Conference Team last year and Grebosky was an All-Rookie Team selection.

Aus was in the top 5 of the MIAC in scoring by a defenseman in league games in 2016. He had one goal and eight assists for nine points in the 15 conference games he played. Aus tied for the team lead in assists in MIAC games.

Overall Aus had a career statistical season. He finished the year with two goals and 13 assists for 15 total points. All three of those totals were career highs. His 13 assists was second on the team.

Bancroft led the team in scoring in conference games with 11 goals and seven assists for 18 points. He was tied for third in goals scored and tied for fifth in overall points. Bancroft had at least one point in nine of the last 12 games of the regular season. During that stretch he scored 10 goals and had five assists.

Bancroft's top game of the season came in the team's 3-0 win over St. Olaf where he scored all three of the team's goals.

Bancroft finished his career with 48 goals and 47 points for 95 points.

Grebosky led the team in scoring in overall games and was second in league contests. He had 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points in the team's 26 games and recorded six goals and eight assists for 14 points in the 16 MIAC games.

Grebosky was in the top 16 of the league in total points, goals scored and assists for the conference season.  He had at least one point in 11 conference games and posted a season-high three points in the team's 7-3 win over Hamline on Jan. 16. Grebosky had a pair of game-winning goals in the MIAC which led the conference.

Grebosky  put up 20 points in his freshman season and now has 24 goals and 21 assists for 45 points in his first two seasons in maroon and gold.

Zeleznikar was one of the mainstays of the Cobber defensive corps all season long. He played in all 26 games for CC and finished third in scoring in overall and conference games.

Zeleznikar recorded seven goals and nine assists for 16 points in all games and posted five goals and 11 points in league games. He was in the top 5 in both scoring by a defenseman and scoring by a freshman.
