Suderman Inks A Contract With Elmira Jackals

MOORHEAD, Minn. (8/11/14)—Former Concordia men's hockey All-American Caleb Suderman signed a contract with the Elmira Jackals of the East Coast Hockey League. It is the second pro contract that Suderman has signed since leaving Concordia after his senior season.
 
The Jackals are the ECHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres and play in the Atlantic Division of the ECHL's Eastern Conference. They were originally part of the United Hockey League.  Suderman originally signed with the Greenville Road Warriors who play in the same conference as the Jackals.

Suderman capped his playing career in maroon and gold by becoming the program's eighth All-American. He was also named the Co-MVP of the MIAC in 2014. Suderman earned MIAC All-Conference honors in four straight seasons and was a finalist for the Sid Watson Award which goes to the best player in NCAA Division III as presented by the AHCA.

Suderman led the nation in scoring by a defenseman in 2013-14. He recorded a career-high 30 points and had at least one point in 19 of the team's 26 games. Suderman finished with 16 goals and 14 assists on the year. His goal total was second highest among defenseman in Division III.

Suderman played in 10 games for Greenville of the ECHL last year during the regular season. He finished with goal and one assist and had 16 shots on goal.

The Jackals will open the 2014-15 regular season on Friday, Oct. 17 when they host Kalamazoo.
