Cobbers To Be Televised In Twin Cities

MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/28/12)—The Concordia men's hockey game at No.13-ranked St. Thomas on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2:30 p.m. will be telecast on Channel 45 TV in the Twin Cities. Channel 45 is the same station that broadcasts all the Minnesota State High School state tournaments including the state hockey tournament.

Dan Terhaar will be the play-by-play announcer and NHL free agent Andrew Brunette will provide color commentary.

The Cobbers are 2-2-0 in MIAC play this season and tied for fourth place in the league standings. CC is also 3-5-1 in all games. Concordia has rejuvenated its offense in 2012. The Cobbers have scored 25 goals in their first nine games of the season. CC has put up five or more goals on two occasions which is one more than they did in all of last season.

Concordia has had the upper hand in the series with the Tommies over the past six games. During that stretch the Cobbers are 5-0-1. The two teams met earlier in the season with Concordia coming away with a 3-1 win in Moorhead on Nov. 2. In that game the Cobbers score he game-winning goal with just under 3-minutes to play in the third period and then added an empty-net goal to win by two.

The series with the Tommies is the last MIAC competition for the Cobbers before the turn of the New Year. CC will have four non-conference games in December and the start of January before returning to conference action on Friday, Jan. 11 at Augsburg.
