Cobbers Roar Back To Gain 4-4 Tie

ST. PETER, MInn. (1/27/12)-- Concordia roared back to score four goals in the third period and erase a 4-0 deficit and skated to a 4-4 overtime tie with Gustavus on Friday. The Cobbers trailed by four heading into the final period but then got goals from Dan Hrabowych, Ben Payne, Erick Galt and Pat Deitz to come away with the 4-4 tie. 

Deitz scored the game-winning goalie at the 19:24 mark after the Cobbers had pulled their goalie for an extra attacker. 

Concordia outshot Gustavus 33-31 in the game. Kelly Andrew started in goal for CC and stopped 14 shots through the first 34:40. Chris Neamonitis played the final 29:40 and made 13 saves to earn the tie.

Neither team was able to score on the power play. The Cobbers were 0-for-2 while the Gusties finished at 0-for-3 in man-advantage situations.

The two teams will finish their series on Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. Peter.
