Coy Papachek
Cobber senior golfer Coy Papachek took a huge
step over the summer
as he lost in the quarterfinals of the prestigious Pine-to-Palm
tournament on the 18th hole to eventual champion Ben Welle. Along
the way Papachek defeated Ohio State junior golfer Max Rosenthal in
a thrilling 23-hole sudden death classic.
Papachek will be looking to bookend his career at Concordia by
upping the stellar freshman season he had in 2011-12. He was named
the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Region Team and
also carried away Central Region Freshman of the Year honors.
Papchek won a pair of meets in his first year in maroon and gold
including the prestigious Twin Cities Classic.
