Lamp's "Kobe" Keys Cobbers' Win

MOORHEAD, Minn. (4/21/21)---Freshman Justin Lamp provided the ESPN Sporstcenter Top 10 Play of the Day when he dunked his tee shot on hole No.9 for a hole-in-one in Concordia's dual meet with Fergus Falls CC on Wednesday at the Moorhead Country Club.

Lamp's first-ever "ace" helped him shoot 32 on the front side, finish with an individual medalist score of 73 and help Concordia beat the Spartans by a score of 310-328. Lamp was one of six Cobbers to break 80 on the day as CC evened its dual-meet record to 1-1 on the year.

Lamp had six pars and a pair of birdies before he stepped into the tee box at the 132-yard ninth hole. He selected a 9-iron and proceeded to hit the ball directly in to the hole on the fly. The only thing missing was for Lamp to jump back, pretend to hit a fadeaway jumper and yell "Kobe". The front side 32 is Lamp's low none holes of his career.

Lamp didn't post a birdie in his final nine holes and finished with a 41 to card his winning score of 73 on the day.

Lamp's 73 was three shots better than fellow freshman teammate Ryan Jenson who posted a 76 for the Cobbers' second team. Jenson posted nine consecutive pars to go out in 36. His lone birdie of the day came on the par-3 16th hole. His "2" was paired with four pars in a second-nine total of 40.

Boyd Rassatt was third in the dual meet with a score of 77 while senior Mason Opheim and junior Ryan Paskey carded identical 78s on the afternoon. Opheim went out in 39 and came back in 39 while Paskey shot 36 on the front side and 42 on the back.

Senior Tyler Bossert was the final member of the under-80 sextet. He posted a 79 with his low nine coming on the front where he shot 39.

Concordia's first team also used the score of Samuel Henke who had the low score of any CC player on the back nine with a 37.
