Stromme Wins Minn.-Crookston Invite

Grand Forks, ND (9/15/2019)- The Concordia College men's golf team finished in 2nd place at the University of Minnesota-Crookston King's Walk Invite. Gage Stromme  shot a second round 67 to finish in 1st place. The senior tallied a season low of 70 in his first round on Sunday, and followed it with a new season low and a first place fiinish on Monday. 

The Cobbers turned in back to back team score of 288, with a two-round total of 576, to finish in 2nd place behind Bemidji State. Concordia claimed the individual champion and had five others who recorded season low rounds and finished in the top 25. 

Behind Stromme,  Mason Opheim  also finished in the top 10, taking eighth with a 76 (145). Blake Kahlbaugh tied for 10th with an 72 (146) while Tyler Bossert tied for 16th with a 73 (148). Nate Longtin  and  Aaron Ryback  both finished tied for 23rd with a two round total of 152. 

UP NEXT: Concordia will compete at the St. John's Fall Invitational on September 21st and 22nd. The Cobbers will play the first round at Greystone Golf Course in Sauk Centre (Minn.) and the second and final round at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course in Sartell (Minn.).
