Longtin & Stromme Lead Cobbers

HAM LAKE, Minn. (9/01/19)---Concordia finished off the opening weekend of the season by shooting a team score of 311 and placing fifth at the Augsburg Invite held at Majestic Oaks GC in Ham Lake.

The Cobbers finished with a 2-round total of 616 (305-311) which was only six shots behind fourth-place Manitoba and 12 shots out of the Top 3.

Nate Longtin and Gage Stromme led Concordia as both golfers fired a total of 153 and finished in a tie for 17th place. Longtin was one of the most consistent CC golfers on the weekend as he went out in 77 on Saturday and came home in 76 on Sunday. Stromme started strong with a 73 on Saturday and was in third place after the first round. He then carded an 80 on Day 2. Stromme's final score represents a  1-shot improvement over last year at the same meet when he posted a total of 154 and tied for 38th place.

The Cobbers also had a tie at the No.3 spot for the weekend. Junior Tyler Bossert and Blake Kahlbaugh both shot totals of 155. The pair flip-flopped scores over the weekend. Bossert shot a 78 on Saturday and then had a 77 on Sunday while Kahlbaugh carded a 77 on Day 1 and then a 78 on Day. 2.

UP NEXT: Concordia stay on the road for their second meet of the season. The Cobbers will compete in the Bemidji State Invitational on Sept. 9-10 at the Bemidji Town & CC.
