Seventh At Shortened MIAC Meet

STORY LINE: Concordia shot three rounds in the low 300's and finished seventh at the weather-shortened MIAC Championship Meet at The Ridges at Sand Creek GC in Jordan. The Cobbers started the tournament with a 309 on Saturday and then fired 302 and 304 during the 36 holes played on Sunday as the meet was shortened to two days because of forecast for harsh weather on Monday.

The Cobbers finished with a 3-round total of 915 which was five shots shy of sixth place and 12 out of a Top 5 finish. The 915 is five shots better than last year's total when they finished sixth at the same course.

 STROMME STRONG: Junior Gage Stromme led the Cobbers at the MIAC Meet. He started the conference tourney with a 77 on Saturday and then went 73-74 on Sunday to post a score of 224 which was good for 11th place and only one shot out of the Top 10. The 11th-place finish is Stromme's best at an MIAC Meet. Last year he tied for 23rd place with a score of 232.

A PACKED SUNDAY: Concordia had five players all shoot within six shots of one another in both rounds on Sunday. Stromme shot the best round on Sunday with his 73 in the first round of the day. His 74 in the second round was the next lowest score of the day and after that the Cobbers posted a 75, three 76s a pair of 78s and also two 79s.

MIAC FAREWELL: Nathaniel Kahlbaugh, Concordia's lone senior, started the tournament with a 74 which was his average from last year at the conference meet when he earned All-Conference honors with a tie for sixth-place finish. Kahlbaugh then posted a pair of 76s on Sunday which left him with a 3-round total of 226 which earned him the No.2 spot on the team and his second straight Top 20 MIAC finish.
