Kahlbaugh Is Officially All-MIAC

MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/08/18)---Junior Nathaniel Kahlbaugh earned his first-ever MIAC All-Conference honor as the league officially released the MIAC All-Conference Team.

Sophomore Jared Lind was the team's selection for the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

The league releases the All-Conference list after the spring portion of the season even though the conference championship meet takes place in the fall.

Concordia has now had at least one All-MIAC golfer for the past nine years and Kahlbaugh becomes the 12th Cobber golfer to earn All-MIAC honors since 2008.

Kahlbaugh earns MIAC All-Conference honors by virtue of his Top 10 finish at the conference tournament which was held from Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at the Ridges at San Creek Golf Course in Jordan.

Kahlbaugh finished in a tie for sixth place at the MIAC Meet after he carded a final score of 222. His previous best finish at an MIAC Championship Meet was 31st in his freshman season in 2015.

Kahlbaugh started with a 73 then carded a 74 in the rain-soaked second round and finished with a 75 to end the tournament at 222. His 73 in the opening round tied for the low 18-hole score of the fall season.

Kahlbaugh backed up his All-Conference fall campaign by going low in his final two rounds in the spring. He shot under 70 in the Cobbers' last two outings and helped Concordia win the Bobby Krig Invite on May 5.

Kahlbaugh recorded a career-low 68 in the second meet of the spring as Concordia won the Cobber Spring Match-Up. He then posted a 69 at the Krig Invite and helped CC tie a school record for the low team total for a single round.

Kahlbaugh ended his junior season by finishing in the Top 20 in four of the team's seven events.  He also had three Top 10 finishes and a pair of tournaments where he finished in the Top 5.

Kahlbaugh ended the season with 75.4 average which is a team best and also the lowest of his career. His previous career best came in his freshman season when he averaged 77.8 in his 18 rounds.
