JORDAN, Minn. (10/02/17)---Nathaniel Kahlbaugh shot three rounds within two strokes of one another and finished in a tie for sixth place at the MIAC Championship Meet to earn All-Conference honors.

Kahlbaugh's Top 10 finish helped Concordia finish in sixth place in the final team standings. The Cobbers started the championship meet with a 306 on Saturday. CC then backed up to a 314 in challenging weather conditions on Sunday before closing with a 300 on Monday. Their 920 total was nine shots shy of a Top 5 finish. Concordia's final total marks only the third time since 2010 that the Cobbers have posted a final team total of 920 or below.

Concordia has now had at least one All-MIAC golfer for the past nine years and Kahlbaugh becomes the 12th Cobber golfer to earn All-MIAC honors at the conference meet since 2008.

Kahlbaugh fired three rounds of 75 or better at this year's meet at the Ridges at Sand Creek GC. He started with a 73 then carded a 74 in the rain-soaked second round and then finished with a 75 to end the tournament at 222.

His 73 on Friday tied for his low round of the season and is all tied for the team low round of the year.

Kahlbaugh's previous best finish at an MIAC Championship Meet was 31st in his freshman season in 2015.

Kahlbaugh finishes the fall season by leading the Cobbers in scoring average. He had a 76.9 average in his nine competitive rounds.

Besides Kahlbaugh, Concordia had two sophomores post Top 25 finishes. Jared Lind and Gage Stromme tied for 23rd place with identical 232 totals but the two golfers arrived at the same destination from two different routes. Lind improved in every single round while Stromme had the more consistent weekend.

Lind started slowly with an 80 on Day 1. He then improved by two shots on Sunday in much worse weather and then capped his three rounds with a 74 on Day 3. His 74 was his low round of the year and he finishes the fall with a 77.9 average.

Stromme went 76-78-78 to get to his 232 total. His three rounds in the 70's extended his streak of sub-80 to five consecutive rounds. That string is the longest of any Cobber golfer this season. Stromme used his strong season finish to post a 77.8 average which is the third lowest on the team.

Blake Kahlbaugh and Aaron Ryback were the Cobbers' No.4 and No.5 golfers at the meet. Blake Kahlbaugh had his quest for all-conference honors blown away on Sunday in the rain and wind. He started and ended the three-round tournament with 77's but squished in an 84 on Day 2 and ened with a 238 total which put him in a tie for 37th place.

Blake Kahlbaugh ends his fall season with a 77.3 average which is second best on CC.

Ryback finished his fall on a high note. He started Day 1 with an 82 then carded an 84 on Sunday before rebounding to shoot a 74 on Monday. The 74 is the low round of his collegiate career.

Ryback played in nine rounds this fall and had a 79.2 average.
