A New Crew Starts The 2015 Trail

HAM LAKE, Minn. (9/06/15)—Concordia started the 2015 season by finishing in tenth place at the Augsburg Fall Invitational held at Majestic Oaks GC.

The Cobbers posted a pair of consistent team scores in the low 300's. CC totaled 305 on Saturday and then finished with a 303 in the second round on Sunday. Their two-day total of 608 was only seven shots off their total from last year when they finished in a tie for third place at the same meet.

Concordia had four different golfers in their top 5 from last year's squad. Cade Montplaisir, the only returning top 5 player from last season, led the team with a final score of 148 (72-76). He came home in 14th place – only five shots out of the top 5 individuals at the meet. Montplaisir's score was four shots clear of his final total from 2014.

Landon Poss was the No.2 golfer for CC at the meet. He was one shot behind Montplaisir at 149 (77-72) and was tied for 15th place. Sam Hendricks and Trevor Swangler rounded out the top 4 scoring players the meet for the Cobbers. Hendricks went 80-73 (153) while Swangler stumbled on Sunday after shooting a 77 on Saturday and carded a total of 159 (77-82).

Sophomore Mark Huneke had the fourth best two-day total for Concordia but was an alternate at the meet for the team. He recorded a final total of 158 and improved by six strokes on Sunday after firing an 82 in the opening round on Saturday.
