Fredrickson Has Career-High At Augsburg

MINNEAPOLIS. Minn. (1/25/20)---Junior Jacob Fredrickson had a career-high 16 points, and led a trio of Cobber starters in double figures, but it wasn't enough as Concordia dropped a 96-64 decision at Augsburg.

The Cobbers were only 1-for-7 (14.3%) from outside the arc while the Auggies went 9-for-28 (32.1%) from 3-point range to earn the victory.

Fredrickson scored nine of his 16 points in the second half and finished the game by going 6-for-7 from the floor and 4-for-6 from the free throw line.

Freshman Braeton Motschenbacher was 5-for-10 from the floor and made the only 3-pointer for Concordia. He finished with 11 points which is second 11-point game in the last three contests.

Senior center John Reiten was 4-for-7 and had 10 points in the game.

Bryden Urie had seven points and collected a team-high five rebounds.

Concordia finished the game by shooting 43.6% (24-for-55) from the floor and was 15-for-23 (65.2%) from the free throw line. The Auggies connected on 51.9% (40-for-77) of their attempts from the field and went 7-for-12 (58.3%) from the foul line.

The Auggies held a 47-30 advantage in rebounds and a 58-36 margin in points in the paint.    

INSIDE STAT INFO: The 77 field goal attempts posted by Augsburg are the most by a Cobber opponent since the 2018 season when Macalester also had 77 attempts on Jan. 27.
   
UP NEXT: Concordia will stay on the road and travel to Northfield when they take on Carleton on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 5 p.m. The Knights are 7-11 on the season and 4-9 in the MIAC.
