20-Point Streak Drives First Win

STORY LINE: Concordia used a 20-0 run in the final five minutes of the first half to outscore Oak Hill Christian 40-18 in the opening period on their way to a 79-60 win in a game that was played at Minn.-Crookston.

RECORD: The win is the first of the year for the Cobbers who even their overall record at 1-1. The Wolfpack loses for the eighth straight game and is now 0-8 for the year.

DIARY OF A 20-POINT STREAK: Concordia trailed for the final time in the game when Oak Hills hit a 3-point shot with 6:35 left in the first half. The Cobbers then missed their next three shots before going 8-for-16 and making five 3-pointers. The run started at the 4:51 mark when Jordan Davis hit a shot from outside the arc. Sophomore Adam Daggett was the catalyst in the game-deciding streak as he hit four 3-pointers. The Cobbers defense also forced seven turnovers during that stretch and held the Wolfpack to 0-for-2 shooting from the floor.

SCORING EFFICIENCY: Adam Daggett came off the bench to score a team-high 18 points in 20 minutes of action. He went 6-for-9 from outside the arc as he scored the first points of his college career. Daggett played in only three games last season and saw time without scoring a point in the season opener at Minn.-Morris.

TOMMY TWO-TONE: Junior guard Tommy Schyma had the best all-around game for Concordia. He grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and also dished out a career-high 10 assists. Schyma also had eight points as he missed the dreaded triple-double by a pair of boards and a made field goal.

DIMES: Concordia dished out 20 assists in its first win of the season. The last time the Cobbers reached the 20-dime mark was last year against Macalester on Jan. 27 when they also had 20 assists. The Cobbers only had two 20-assist games in all of last year.

UP NEXT: The Cobbers will return to Crookston on Sunday, Nov. 18 to take on Minn.-Crookston at 4 p.m. The Pirates are 5-1 on the season and beat Valley City State 84-54 on Saturday.
