3-Point Pounding

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (1/20/18)---Concordia ran into a red-hot shooting St. Olaf squad and lost 98-62 in Northfield. The Oles made 19 3-point field goals and shot 61.3% from long range to secure the win.

Concordia (4-11/2-8 MIAC) never led in the game which featured St. Olaf scoring the first six points and 18 of the first 23.

In addition to the Oles' success from outside the arc, they were also able to connect at a quality clip from the floor. St. Olaf shot 61.3% (36-for-57) from the field.

The Cobbers shot 44.0% (22-for-50) from the floor and 36.4% (8-for-22) from 3-point range. Concordia only had 13 turnovers in the game but St. Olaf held a 19-1 edge in points off of turnovers.

Collin Larson and Jordan Davis were the only two CC players with more than seven points in the game. Larson went 4-for-7 from 3-point range and finished with 18 points. Davis added 11 points and made a pair on long-range shots.

The game was a low-rebounding affair with St. Olaf holding a 24-23 edge. Freshman guard Bryden Urie led all players with five boards. John Reiten came off the bench to haul in four rebounds.

TALKING OF 10: Collin Larson has now scored in double figures in four straight games and has at least 10 points in 10 games this year. Larson leads the team in scoring this year. He is averaging 11.8 points per game. He also leads the team with 31 made 3-pointers.

WHAT'S NEXT: Concordia will have a short turnaround to get ready for their next conference game. The Cobbers will host Hamline on Monday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. The Pipers are 8-8 overall and 4-7 in league play.
