Hemmingsen Releases Recruiting Class

MOORHEAD, Minn. (6/13/17)--- The first recruiting class for any head coach is very special and that is the case for first-year Cobber coach Grant Hemmingsen who announced the incoming class of Concordia student/athletes for the 2017-18 season.

"We have 10 players who all have the ability to make an impact on the program," commented Hemmingsen. "I am excited to have the opportunity to take these student/athletes through their college years and help them be successful on and off the court."

Hemmingsen's first recruiting class covers three states and has a pair of student/athletes from the Fargo-Moorhead area.

The 2017-18 class features five guards which will be crucial for the Cobbers' success since they lost a pair of starting guards to graduation. The remaining five incoming players feature three forwards and two 6-6 centers.

"I am very happy with the mix of players in this class," added Hemmingsen. "They will add depth and talent to all the positions and have a chance to be a very good class as they move through their years at Concordia."

The Cobbers are coming off a season where they narrowly missed the MIAC playoffs. Concordia finished with a 9-11 record in league play which was one game shy of the conference tournament. CC went 12-13 in all games and had non-conference wins against Crown, St. Scholastica and Valley City State.  

Concordia will start the "Hemmingsen Era" on Wednesday, Nov. 15 when they host Minn.-Morris at 7:45 p.m. The Cobbers will play at Hemmingsen's alma mater Augsburg on Saturday, Nov. 25 in the first MIAC game of the season.
