MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/25/17) --- Concordia was clinging to a one-point lead at half over Gustavus before senior Zach Kinny erupted in the second half to help the Cobbers beat the Gusties 75-63. 

Kinny went 5-of-6 from the floor, including 4-for-6 from beyond the arc, and scored 16 second half points to guide the Cobbers win their third straight game. 

The Litchfield, Minn. product continued his torrid streak by scoring a career-high 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting and hauled down a game-high eight rebounds in 38 minutes of work. 

Concordia moves to 10-7 overall and 7-5 in league play. They are now in a two-way tie with Hamline for first place. Gustavus drops to 3-14 overall and 3-9 in conference games.

 The Cobbers scored on 14 of their final 18 possessions to close out the ball game. 

Kinny was the catalyst in sparking the run. 

GAC got within one point at 45-44 with 10:51 to play but Kevin Wolfe scored a pair of inside buckets and Kinny buried triples on back-to-back possessions to open up a nine point lead. 

The other two seniors did their part down the stretch for the Cobbers. 

Austin Nelson hit a jumper and stroked a 3-pointer and Dylan Alderman placed the saddle on the Gusties as he went a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe in the final three minutes. 

Alderman finished with 12 points while Wolfe chipped in with 11 for the Cobbs. Austin Heins and Nelson each added nine for Concordia. 

Gustvaus outshot CC 55.3% (26-of-47) to 53.1% (26-of-49) from the floor - but Concordia capitalized off of Gustie turnovers. 

The Gusties turned the ball over 12 times, which led to 24 points on the other end for the Cobbers. 

Gustavus outrebounded Concordia 26-25 in the game – just the fifth time the Cobbers have been outrebounded this season. 

HOME SWEET HOME: Concordia has won three straight at home and is 7-2 inside the friendly confines of Memorial Auditorium this season. 

STRONG STARTS: Concordia's 31-30 lead at the break marked the ninth time the Cobbers led at the intermission. They are 8-1 in contests when they lead at the half. 

BUILDING TRADITION: With Wednesday's win, head coach Rich Glas has guided Concordia to a double-digit win total in eight of his nine seasons in Moorhead. 

HALF GLASS FULL: Concordia shot greater than 50.0% for the eighth time this season. It was the first time in seven games that CC made over half their shots, with the last time being on January 3 at Augsburg. 

LONG DISTANCE SNIPERS: Concordia shot 9-of-21 (42.9%) from 3-point land against GAC. It is the fourth time they have shot 40% or better and the Cobbers are 4-0 in those games. 

ZACH ATTACK: Zach Kinny has set a handful of career-highs during this four-game homestand. Along with his career-high in points Wednesday, he also hit a career high six triples. He has a set a career-high in points in two of the past four games. 

WHAT'S NEXT: Concordia will travel to Northfield to take on St. Olaf on Saturday. The Oles are 7-9 overall and 5-6 in the league after losing to Bethel 70-52. The Cobbers took care of business against the Oles in December in Glas' 600th career win.
