D3hoops.com All-Region Program Record

MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/14/16)—Concordia senior Jordan Bolger continues to set program records in the award season. On Monday Bolger was named to the D3hoops.com All-West Region First Team to become the first Cobber player to be named to the D3hoops.com All-Region First Team.

The D3hoops.com All-Region honor comes on the heels of Bolger becoming the first Concordia player to be voted into the NABC Division III All-Star game. Bolger also became the fourth player in program history to be named the MIAC Most Valuable Player.

Bolger becomes the fourth player in Cobber men's basketball history to earn D3hoops.com All-Region honors. He joins Keith Eckoff, Luke Linz and John Fraase as the only recipients to win the award. Linz and Fraase earned back-to-back All-Region honors.

To be eligible for the D3hoops.com All-Region Teams, players must be nominated by their Sports Information Director. This year a record 776 student/athletes were nominated for the award.
 
Bolger is now eligible for All-American honors. The men's All-American team will be announced at the end of this week, in conjunction with the Division III men's championships.

This is the 15th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team and this year's All-America team will be the 19th annual All-Ameircan selections. The D3hoops.com All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches' associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book.    

Bolger was one of six players from the MIAC to earn D3hoops.com All-West Region honors. However, Bolger was the only conference player to be placed on the All-West Region First Team.

Bolger put up career numbers in every statistical category in 2016. He averaged 18.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game and finished in the top 10 in the MIAC in an amazing 13 different statistical categories. He scored at least 10 points in 23 of the 24 games he played during the season and put up at least 20 points on 13 occasions.

Bolger also came away with a pair of career milestones during the year. He became only the third player in school history to score at least 1,000 points and collect 500 rebounds in a career.  Bolger joined the elite 1000/500 club when he scored his 1,000th point on Jan. 9 against St. John's. He surpassed the 500-rebound mark on Dec. 2 vs. St. Thomas.

Bolger finished his career fifth on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,268 points. He also came away with 679 rebounds which is second on the school's all-time chart. Bolger also recorded 17 double-doubles throughout the course of his storied career.
