Weekend Watch - Aug. 31-Sept. 2

Welcome to the newest feature of the new Cobber website! Each Friday we will give Cobber Nation a weekend watch primer that covers all the sports in action over the weekend. We will also provide links to all live video, audio and stats broadcasts so fans can keep up with their favorite teams.

Friday, Aug. 31
The opening weekend of the 2012-13 athletic year features plenty of action with seven of the eight Cobber fall teams in competition. The weekend starts with the Concordia men's golf team hosting the Concordia Invite at Village Green GC. The men's and women's cross country teams then compete at the Valley City Invite before the women's soccer plays in Duluth and the volleyball team plays in Eau Claire, Wis. to finish off the opening day of competition.

Saturday, Sept. 1
Saturday starts bright and early with the volleyball playing UW-Stout at 10 a.m. The CC men's golf team then tees off at 10:30 a.m. to finish off the Concordia Invite. Tim Mosser's volleyball crew finishes off the UW-Eau Claire Tourney by playing UW-Stevens Point at 12:15 p.m. The marquee match-up of the first day of September features the Cobber football team heading west on Hwy. 94 to take on Jamestown in the season opener at 1 p.m. Also opening their season at 1 p.m. is the men's soccer team which opens the Ben Schneweis era by playing UW-Whitewater at St. Scholastica. Saturday ends with the No.14-ranked CC women's soccer team playing at St. Scholastica at 5 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 2
The weekend comes to a close on Sunday with the men's soccer team squaring off against UW-Superior at Duluth Denfeld HS at noon.
