Finn Grinaker Golf Tournament

Finn Grinaker Golf Tournament

The Finn & Carol Grinaker Cobber golf scramble is named in memory of Finn Grinaker who was a Hall of Fame coach and longtime faculty member. His wife Carol was a faithful Cobber fan and huge supporter of Concordia athletics.

Finn was part of the backbone of the Concordia health and physical education department for more than three decades. In addidtion to his outstanding contribution in the classroom, Finn coached wrestling, football, basketball and golf and was inducted into the Concordia Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991. Finn is also in the Minnesota Wrestling Hall of Fame and authored two books: "I Played for Jake" about legendary coach Jake Christiansen and "Stand Up and Cheer: the Story of the First 100 Years on Men's Sports at Concordia."

The 33rd Annual Finn & Carol Grinaker golf scramble is an opportunity for all Cobber fans, alumni, & friends to get together for a round of golf, camaraderie, and great fun. Proceeds from the event benefit the Cobber athletic teams, ensuring that our 500+ student-athletes have a positive experience and continue our long standing traditions of success on the playing fields and surfaces.
