Bogart & Bossert Earn Academic Honors

MOORHEAD, Minn. (7/09/21)---Concordia seniors Benjamin Bogart (Alexandria, Minn.) and Tyler Bossert (Fargo, N.D.) were both named to the Academic All-District At-Large Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The “At-Large” distinction covers student-athletes who compete in women’s crew/rowing, men’s and women’s fencing, women’s field hockey men’s and women’s golf, women’s gymnastics, men’s and women’s ice hockey, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s tennis and wrestling.  

Bogart and Bossert were two of only 11 student-athletes chosen for the District 6 At-Large Team. Concordia was one of only three schools in the district to have more than one student-athlete earn the award.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District team is part of the CoSIDA Academic All-America program. Top student-athletes from NCAA Division III programs in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan are eligible for inclusion on the District 6 team, one of eight Division III districts nationwide.

Bogart finished his Concordia academic career with a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) while majoring in Physics and Mathematics. He was a 4-year member of the Cobber wrestling team who competed in the NWCA Division III National Meet this year. During his athletic career with the Cobbers, Bogart posted a Top 8 finish at the 2019 NCAA Upper Midwest Regional Meet and won 24 matches during that season.

Off the mat, Bogart was a Tech Advisor for the Minnesota Space Grant Consortium (MnSGC) Intercollegiate Quadcopter Challenge.

Bossert is an ACHA All-American who has a 3.89 GPA while majoring in Finance. He earned his All-American honor in 2019 when he led the MIAC in total points and assists. Bossert is also a 2-time MIAC All-Conference honoree who has 50 assists in 54 games played for the Cobbers. He has 67 career points.

Bossert is also a member of the Cobber men’s golf team and helped Concordia to a third-place finish at the MIAC Conference Meet this past spring which was the team’s highest finish at a conference meet since 2001.      

Student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.30 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials. Both student-athletes are now eligible for Academic All-American honors.
