Bio

Tony Reno is in his ninth season as assistant coach for the Cobbers. Reno took over as defensive line coach after spending two seasons as head coach of the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High School team.

During his tenure with the Cobbers he has guided several All-Conference performers and last year helped Nate Adams earn the Mike Stam Award for the league's top lineman as well as being named to the D3football.com All-American Third Team.

In his two years as head coach he amassed a record of 13-8 and was named the Heart O’ Lakes Conference Coach of the Year in 2004. Reno was a two-year letter winner in football at the University of Minnesota-Crookston. He was the captain of the 1988 squad for the Golden Eagles and was named to the all-conference and all-region teams in 1988. Reno then earned his undergraduate degree from MSUM in 1992 and a master’s degree from the University of St. Thomas.

After graduating from MSUM, he took a position as an assistant coach at Red Wing High School. Reno was the defensive coordinator for Red Wing in 1993 before moving on to accept the assistant coaching job at DGF.

He currently teaches mathematics at DGF. He lives in Dilworth with his wife, Julie, and three daughters, Alexandra, Sofia and Jenessa.
