Another Top 10 National Attendance Mark

MOORHEAD, Minn. (4/09/14)—The Concordia team once again finished in the top 10 in Division III in attendance. The Cobbers averaged 4,427 fans for their five home games in 2013 and finished eighth in the nation in attendance per game. It is the eighth time in the last nine years Concordia has finished the season ranked in the top 10 in Division III attendance.

"We have traditionally had some of the best fan support in the area," commented head coach Terry Horan. "Our fans make all our home games special and the atmosphere at The Jake [Jake Christiansen Stadium] on Saturday's in the fall always gives me goose bumps."

In addition to another top 10 finish in national attendance, Concordia averaged over 4,300 fans for the fifth straight season. The Cobber are one of only two teams in the MIAC to average at least 4,300 fans in each of the past five seasons.

The Cobbers had a total of 22,135 fans for their five home games last fall. The largest crowd of the year came at Homecoming where Concordia drew 5,120 fans for their game against nationally-ranked Bethel. CC drew over 3,900 fans for every home game in 2013.

Concordia was a part of another attendance title for the MIAC. The conference led Division III in both total and average attendance. It is the third straight season the conference has been the national leader in attendance and marks the eighth time in the last ninth seasons that the MIAC has been tops in fan support.

In 2013, a total of 160,482 fans attended the 48 football games hosted by the MIAC's nine football team, an average of 3,343 fans per game. All nine of the MIAC's football institutions drew at least 6,400 total fans and more than 1,200 fans per game in2013.
