With nine teams and 48 total games, the conference averaged 3,503 fans per game, which was an increase of 589 fans from the 2010 average and also tops in the country. In fact, the MIAC drew more total fans in 2011 than two Division I FCS conferences and more than seven of the 15 conferences in Division II.

"The MIAC is proud to lead Division III in football attendance this season," said MIAC Executive Director Dan McKane. "All the credit goes to our schools, teams and our dedicated fans. Our conference values a great game-day experience for all of our student-athletes, coaches, officials, staff, alumni and fans, and all of our institutions do a great job hosting football on their campus each Saturday throughout the fall. We're glad so many people enjoy MIAC football, and we thank everyone for their continued loyal support."

In Division III, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference was the runner up with an average of 3,498 fans per game, and the Ohio Athletic Conference finished second in total attendance with 134,627. The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association had the second-highest average increase behind the MIAC at 383 fans per game. This season, the MIAC was one of just seven Division III conference to top 100,000 fans, and one of just three to average more than 3,000 fans per game.
