Feia Signs With RedHawks

MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/11/16)—Former Concordia All-Region pitcher Bryce Feia (Avon, Minn.) has signed a rookie contract with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball.

Feia earned ABCA and D3baseball.com honors for the Cobbers last season. He set the school record for saves in 2015. He finished the year with 10 saves for the season and was 15th in all of NCAA Division III in saves during the year. He finished his career with 23 saves and had a 2.49 ERA.

In addition to his All-Region awards, Feia was placed on the MIAC All-Conference Team in 2015. He was dominat in league play last spring as he pitched in 11 conference games, compiled a miniscule 0.68 ERA and had seven saves. He led the MIAC in saves and was second in ERA among all conference closers.

Feia pitched for the Medicine Hat (Alberta) Mavericks of the Western Major Baseball League where he was 3-3 with a 4.29 ERA and five saves in 24 appearances.

Feia joins a long list of Cobbers who have gone on to play for the RedHawks. Most notably is current Concordia head coach Chris Coste who was a three-time All-American and used his time with the RedHawks as a catalyst for his World Series winning career with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Feia will join current assistant coach, and Cobber Hall of Fame coach, Bucky Burgau on the roster of the RedHawks. Burgau has been an assistant coach with the club since 1999.

Other former Concordia players who have played include Billy DeNet, Derek Dormanen, Ryan Hebrink, Kyle Johnson, Brad Keenan, Jake Krause, Ron Litzau, Jesse Rostad and Greg Salvevold. Current Cobber assistant coach Mike Peschel was also a standout pitcher for the RedHawks from 2003-07.
