Four Players Named To D3baseball All-Region Teams

MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/18/15)--- On the heels of having six players earn MIAC postseason honors, Concordia had four student/athletes named to the D3baseball.com All-Midwest Region Team.  

Nick Bornhauser, Bryce Feia, Eric Carlsen and Aaron Green were all placed on the first of two major All-Region lists. Bornhauser earned All-Midwest First Team honors while Feia was selected to the All-Region Second Team and Carlsen and Green garnered third team awards.

It is the first All-Region awards four all four players and Bornhauser is now eligible to be named to the D3baseball.com All-American team.

The quartet helped the Cobbers post a 26-11 overall record. The 26 total wins are the most since the 1995 season. Concordia was in the top 10 in six different statistical categories in all of NCAA Division III. CC led the nation in slugging percentage and doubles per game. They were also second in home runs per game, sixth in batting average, seventh in scoring and 10th in on-base percentage.   

Bornhauser was the offensive leader for the Cobbers. He was in the top 2 in the MIAC in six different stat categories. He set new school records for doubles (19) and RBI (47). He finished in the top 15 of the nation in four different offensive categories. He was seventh in doubles per game, 11th in slugging percentage, 13th in doubles and 14th in RBI per game.

Bornhauser recently signed a professional baseball contract with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League.

Feia became the single-season save leader in Cobber baseball history in 2015. He finished the year with 10 saves for the season. He led the MIAC in saves in overall games and conference contests. Feia was 15th in all of NCAA Division III in saves during the year. He finished the season with a 2.62 ERA in 11 appearances.

Feia finished his career with 23 saves and had a 2.49 ERA.

Carlsen led the team in batting average in 2015. He finished the year with a .444 average. Carlsen was second in the MIAC in batting average for the year. He was also 26th in all of Division III in batting average. Carlsen hit safely in 11 of the final 13 games of the season and had a hit in 26 of the 30 games he played in during the year.

Green set the school single-season record for total bases. He finished the year with 100 total bases which was one more than head coach Chris Coste's mark of 99 in 1994. Green was in the top 10 of the MIAC in eight different offensive categories. He was second in home runs and third in both RBI and total bases. Green also finished in the top 20 of the nation in home runs, home runs per game and RBI per game.
