Field Dedication Ceremony Postponed Until May 5

MOORHEAD, Minn. (4/28/14)—Due to the forecast for more rain and the unplayable field conditions the Concordia baseball doubleheader with Bethel scheduled for Tuesday, Apr. 29 has been postponed until Monday, May 5.

The postponement to the doubleheader means that the baseball field dedication ceremony, which was also scheduled for Tuesday, Apr. 29, has been postponed until Monday, May 5 at 12:30 p.m.

The baseball field inside the Jake Christiansen Athletic Complex will be named in honor of 36-year Head Coach Bucky Burgau, who is retiring at the end of the season. The dedication ceremony precedes Concordia's final home doubleheader of the season against Bethel.

Burgau is the all-time winningest coach in MIAC baseball history. He recently became the first coach in the history of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference to earn his 700th career win. He has the 12th most wins of any active coach in all of NCAA Division III.

Burgau is a four-time MIAC Coach of the Year and has guided the Cobbers to three MIAC championships — in 1985, 1993 and 1995. Burgau is the only coach in league history to amass over 400 conference wins. He was elected to the Concordia Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.
