First Outdoor Practice Of The Season

MOORHEAD, Minn. (4/02/13)—The Cobber baseball team stepped on their home field for the first outdoor practice of the season on Tuesday. Concordia was able to take infield and go through other drills thanks to the FieldTurf installed several years ago.

"It's just great to be outside," commented head coach Bucky Burgau. "Nothing replaces the feel of being outside and getting used to seeing the ball against a blue sky. Every little bit we can practice on our field will help us as we get ready to start conference play."

Concordia has already had six doubleheaders postponed or cancelled due to the late spring thaw. The Cobbers have played 12 games this season- 10 inside the Metrodome and two at Dickinson State last Thursday. Concordia is slated to open conference play on Friday, Apr. 5 at St. Olaf at 1 p.m. The Cobbers' first home series is scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 6 against St. John's. Both twinbills are still "up in the air" due to field conditions and Burgau said a decision on the games will be made later in the week.
